Love camping and 4x4-ing and want to turn that passion into content? Join Adventure Gear Australia and help capture the trips, gear and adventures our customers live for.
About Us
Adventure Gear Australia is a locally owned retail store specialising in quality camping, 4x4, touring, navigation and prospecting gear. We help South Australians explore with confidence, and now we want someone who can help us tell that story online — through real reels, real trips and real gear, not stock content.
About the Role
This is a junior, hands-on role, ideal for a marketing, communications or media student, recent graduate, or early-career candidate wanting practical experience across social media, content creation and digital marketing. You'll work closely with our management team to plan and create content that actually feels like it comes from someone who's been out there and used the gear.
To do this well, you need to genuinely enjoy camping and 4x4-ing yourself. It's what will make the content authentic rather than generic, and it's the biggest thing that will set your application apart.
Key Responsibilities
- Create social media reels and content covering gear, trips, events and behind-the-scenes at the store
- Support marketing campaigns across our digital platforms, from concept through to posting
- Capture and edit content from customer trips, store events and prospecting/touring outings
- Design social tiles, website banners and promotional graphics using Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Shoot and edit short-form video using Photoshop and Premiere Pro
- Photograph products and prepare images for online and social use
- Build and send email marketing campaigns
- Write simple product descriptions and promotional copy
- Support the sales and marketing team with general projects and admin as needed
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Genuinely loves camping and 4x4-ing — you don't need to be an expert, but you need to have actually done it and want to keep doing it, so the content you create feels real
- Is currently studying or has recently studied marketing, communications, digital media, graphic design or a related field
- Has basic graphic design skills in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
- Understands how social media, email marketing and digital content work, ideally with some hands-on experience
- Is proactive, organised and comfortable managing a few projects at once
- Has strong written communication skills and a good eye for detail
- Is confident picking up new platforms and tools
- Has an interest in photography, video and content editing
- Brings a practical, willing attitude and is happy to jump between different tasks
Experience with content management systems, e-commerce platforms, email marketing software or video editing tools is a bonus, but not essential.
What We Offer
- A flexible part-time role that can work around university or study commitments
- Access to multiple pieces of professional capture equipment for shooting and editing content
- Hands-on experience across social media, content creation, digital marketing and e-commerce
- Real exposure to campaigns, trip and event content, and product launches, not just theory
- Guidance from a small, supportive management team
- The chance to build a genuine content portfolio featuring real trips and real gear
- Room for the role to grow as your skills develop
Employment Details
- Part-time position, approximately 15–22 hours per week
- Based primarily in-store at Blackwood, with content shoots at events, trips and outdoor locations
- Some flexibility around study timetables available
