Westprint Googs Track Map
This Westprint map (4th edition, 2021) covers the historic Goog's Track in South Australia, running approximately 500km from Ceduna through Tarcoola and Kingoonya to Wirrulla. Named after pioneer John “Goog” Denton, who built much of the original road by hand, the track crosses a striking mix of sand dunes, rocky outcrops, salt lakes and mulga scrub — often likened to a miniature version of the Canning Stock Route or Simpson Desert, but manageable as a two- to three-day trip thanks to its proximity to major towns. The map itself is GPS-surveyed and clearly presents road and track distances, rest areas, camping information and designated camping areas, along with notes on history, early explorers, flora and fauna and photographs of key landmarks. A high-clearance 4WD, proper recovery equipment and travelling in convoy are recommended given the track's remote sections. Folding down to a compact 140mm x 250mm and weighing just 90 grams, it's an easy addition to the glovebox. Available through Hema Maps, this Westprint sheet is a trusted, detailed reference for tackling Goog's Track.
