Garmin Montana 700i GPS Unit
The Garmin Montana 700i is a rugged handheld GPS unit built for on- and off-road navigation, backed by two-way inReach satellite messaging and interactive SOS for when you're well beyond mobile coverage. Preloaded with City Navigator street maps and TopoActive Australia and New Zealand topographic mapping, it transitions seamlessly from sealed roads to remote 4WD tracks, and can be paired with optional Hema Maps digital map cards for even more detailed outback coverage. Tested to US military standards, the Montana 700i features a glove-friendly 5-inch touchscreen — 50% larger than earlier Montana models — along with an altimeter, barometer and 3-axis compass. Multi-GNSS support (GPS, GLONASS and Galileo) improves positioning accuracy in difficult terrain, while direct-to-device Birdseye satellite imagery downloads let you create waypoints from photo-realistic views without a subscription. An internal rechargeable battery delivers up to 18 hours in GPS mode or 330 hours in expedition mode, and the unit accepts optional vehicle mounts for cars, ATVs, boats and RVs. At 410 grams and 9.19 x 18.3 x 3.27cm, it's a serious navigation and safety tool for 4WD touring, hiking and remote-area travel. Active satellite subscription required for messaging and SOS.
